The Work You Will Do:
Receptionist / Support Services
Perform Receptionist duties such as receive and route calls, welcome visitors and vendors and direct to their perspective locations.

Your Specific Responsibilities:
Acts as switchboard operator for statewide general Department of Transportation published contact number. Receives and routes all incoming telephone calls, including appropriate routing of customer complaints. Collects and distributes messages when required by email to appropriate staff.
Performs receptionist duties. Assist security attendant with signing in visitors such as customers, public officers, vendors, general public, and other interested parties, using Support Services established process. Announces visitors to specific offices and directs to other offices.
Forwards building maintenance request to the appropriate Support Services staff. Provides assistance to walk-in members of the public who need information or direction assistance.
The Successful Candidate will have the following required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

- Knowledge of business telephone etiquette.
- Knowledge of techniques for effectively dealing with people.
- Knowledge of techniques for responding to telephone calls in a courteous and effective manner.

Minimum Qualifications:
- A high school diploma or its equivalent and two years of secretarial or clerical work experience. College education from an accredited institution can substitute for the required experience on a year for year basis.
