Your Specific Responsibilities:
This position is primarily responsible for managing, organizing, and completion of key projects by a set deadline by being engaged in all phases of a project lifecycle, from planning to deployment, and will ensure high-quality deliverables. Additionally, this position will be responsible for assisting the program’s data system project manager with activities related to the newborn screening data system.
This position reports to the Supervisor of the CQI Unit within the NBS Program.
NOTE: This is NOT a remote position.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Responsible for managing, organizing, and completion of quality improvement projects by being engaged in all phases of the project lifecycle from planning to deployment, and will ensure high-quality deliverables in a timely manner.
Associated responsibilities include:
- Defining project timeline, drafting proposals, establishing budgets if applicable, and maintaining project documentation throughout project lifecycle.
- Organizing activities and determining an effective approach to complete each project.
- Coordinating among internal teams to delegate and prioritize tasks and conduct status updates and check-ins with individual team members to ensure on-time completion of tasks.
- Maintaining communication with stakeholders to ensure project alignment and address any challenges timely.
- Providing regular project status check-ins, progress tracking, and updates on deliverables with internal teams, external resources, and stakeholders.
- Serves as a point of contact for the NBS Program when multiple units/programs are assigned to the same project.
In addition, this position will assist managing projects involving the newborn screening data system. Specific tasks will include:
- Testing the data system for user technical acceptance, and maintenance of all user needs.
- Data system integration among systems where needed to improve organizational efficiency and effectiveness.
- Articulate a clear understanding and direction for the NBS data collection and reporting needs to the third-party data system vendor.
- Coordinates projects with the Office of Information Technology and vendors to ensure effective integration of systems and support implementation when applicable.
This position is also responsible for annual maintenance of the Continuity of Operations Plan (COOP) and coordination of the planning team to evaluate potential needs and review past activations.

Qualifications:
Minimum –
- Valid State of Florida Driver’s License
- Proven experience in project management, particularly within a technology and data-driven
Preferred –
- 1 - 3 years of experience
- Preference will be given to applicants with a Bachelor's degree in a computer science related field.
- Preference will be given to applicants with a Lean Six Sigma yellow belt certification or higher with 2-3 years of project management experience.
- Years of experience in either a computer science field or project management can be counted in place of the educational preference using the education and experience equivalency chart used by the Department of Health.
