Position Overview:
This is an exciting opportunity to help shape the quality of health care in Florida. We are seeking to hire an Audit Evaluation & Review Analyst who desires to work to enhance the delivery of health care services through the Florida Medicaid Program. This position requires a candidate who is creative, flexible, innovative, and who will thrive in a fast-paced, team-based work environment.
This position is located in the Bureau of Medicaid Program Finance (MPF). MPF manages and projects Florida’s $33.7 billion Medicaid Services budget, oversees financial reporting of the Agency’s contracted Medicaid health plans, calculates both institutional and non-institutional Medicaid reimbursement rates, and disburses supplemental payments to Medicaid providers.
This position is responsible for:
Performing technical, analytical reviews and evaluations of audits performed by contract CPA firms engaged in the compliance auditing of the fiscal cost reports and compliance transactions for third-party service providers. This position is the team lead over the other Audit Evaluation & Review Analysts and responsible for reviewing their work along with desk audits.
Evaluates support provided after receipt of petition filed subsequent to audit issuance or performs special review requested by management.
Provides technical advice and assistance to contract auditors, other areas within the Agency, and other governmental agencies on cost report requirements and audit results.
Develops and recommends documentation standards and audit requirements incorporating current rules and regulations, federal and state statutes, and standards for auditing.
Represents the Agency in formal and informal administrative and court proceedings.
Conducts training programs to maintain and improve the professional standards and qualifications of the audit staff.
Performs related work as required.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS REQUIREMENTS
Four years experience related to accounting, auditing, financial analysis, economics, statistics, or mathematics.
Four years of professional experience researching, analyzing and reconciling financial data.
Three years detailed knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP), procedures, and techniques.
Three years knowledge of documentation standards and audit requirements incorporating current rules and regulations, federal and state statutes, and standards for auditing.
Three years professional experience using Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
Preference will be given to applicants with experience in performing audits.
Preference will be given to applicants who possess a CPA License.
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with a degree in a business-related field such as accounting, finance, economics, statistics, or mathematics being highly preferred. Experience can be substituted for education on a year-for-year basis.
