Minimum Qualifications:
Six years of direct experience or a master’s degree.
Customer service experience.
Knowledge of computer software applications such as Word, PowerPoint, Excel, etc.
Two years’ experience reviewing, proofreading or editing the content of others for print or web.
Preferences:
Experience using Associated Press Writing style.
Experience in Photoshop or editing digital images.

Duties and Responsibilities:
- Manages new and existing website content management system for the Division. Manages the overall content for the Division’s website including organizing and developing written and visual content. Serves as editor and writer for the Division’s presence online.
- Edits and proofreads all Division publications; corrects omissions, errors or inconsistencies found; corrects errors in type, arrangement, grammar, punctuation and spelling; consults reference materials and conducts editorial research to ensure factual accuracy.
- Identifies and provides training for DLIS staff related to best practices for web writing, written communications, and website updates.
- Writes and edits copy, including press releases, speeches, articles, correspondence, proclamations and promotional items.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
- Knowledge of the structure and content of the English language including the meaning and spelling of words, rules of composition, and grammar
- Ability to read, review and edit the content of others
- Ability to communicate effectively in writing as appropriate for the needs of online audiences
- Ability to read and understand information and ideas presented in writing
- Ability to communicate information and ideas so others will understand
- Ability to quickly and accurately compare similarities and differences among sets of letters, numbers, objects, pictures or patterns
- Knowledge of Associated Press Writing Styles
- Working knowledge of how users navigate the web
- Knowledge of Photoshop or editing digital images
- Ability to communicate and work collaboratively with others in a team
