Accountant IV and Turnpike Enterprise/Chief Financial Officer/Tolls Financial Services/Traffic & Revenue Audit Center.
This position will support the agency by handling complex accounting, ensuring compliance, and providing accurate financial reporting as well as strengthening internal controls.

Anticipated Pay:

Your Specific Responsibilities:
Prepare financial reconciliations, analysis, year-end closing entries, assisting other departments within the Turnpike in technical areas of accounting, and maintaining the Turnpike's financial information in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP). Prepare mid-year and year-end reconciliations such as accrued interest, accounts receivable, due to/from other governments, other current assets, intangibles, other loans, and notes receivable among other general ledger reconciliations. Complete semiannual and annual general ledger variance analysis for financial reporting review purposes. Research and resolve reconciliation variances. Review and analyze general ledger account balances. Run monthly revenue data sets for revenue reconciliation purposes. Provide feedback and recommendations to improve processes, enhance reporting accuracy, and ensure compliance with accounting standards. Assist the Accounting Manager with the preparation of monthly toll revenue reconciliation.
Retrieve monthly transponder invoices to assist with transponder inventory. Conduct annual transponder inventory. Responsible for the preparation of monthly reconciliations such as Transponder inventory, interest apportionment among others.
Retrieve monthly reports from various sites and logs information for mid-year and year-end financial reporting. Calculates annual Consumer Price Index (CPI) increases and obtains supporting documentation in accordance with capitalization policy. Prepare the Monopole lease agreement anniversary calculations for the preparation of a letter of credit. Verify leases are accurately and timely maintained.
Assist in the preparation of accounting policies and standard operating procedures. Review and evaluate current processes relating to financial reporting and reconciliations. Recommend improvements as deemed appropriate and develop action plans for their implementation.
Prepare accounting records for management, auditors, or regulatory agencies. Assist gathering support for audit of the Annual Comprehensive Financial Report.
The Successful Candidate will have the following required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

- Conduct financial and statistical management analysis in the preparation of management records
- Collect, compile, and interpret accounting data
- Prepare, reconcile, and analyze a variety of accounting records and reports
- Plan, organize, and manage multiple diverse projects meeting established deadlines accurately
- Use statewide accounting software
- Review fiscal data for accuracy and completeness
- Work closely with FDOT staff and consultants
