Your Specific Responsibilities:
This position is responsible for creating templates used for appointments, providing eligibility determination and issuance of benefits for participates applying/qualifying for the Women, Infant and Children (WIC) Program covering Leon, Jefferson, Jefferson, Madison, Taylor, Wakulla, and Franklin County clinics. Creates templates used for building WIC appointments for all clinics in FL-WISE System. Builds clinics appointments to be used for scheduling varies client services. Adjust clinic schedules daily as increase or decreases are needed. Completes rebuilds of templates as needed to accommodate changing schedules of clinics. Answers the telephone, and schedules appointments. Make appointment reminder calls to client to remind them of their upcoming appointment. Interviews clients applying for WIC to determine financial eligibility. Reviews clients’ proof of income and enters data into FL-WISE System for all clients. Verifies clients Medicaid and food stamp status. Explain rights and obligations of the WIC program to the client. Obtains necessary medical and/or WIC records and issues ID/VOC cards for clients receiving WIC services. Issues food benefits and ID/VOC card. Instructs clients on Electronic Balance Transfer (EBT) use and redemption procedures. Follows established protocol to provide nutrition education newsletters and nutrition classes to clients. Documents nutrition contact in WIC computer system. Maintains accountability of all WIC forms and issuance materials. Participates in agency Quality Assurance Reviews. Performs other related duties as required. Attends staff meetings and other related in-services to keep current on pertinent rules, regulations, and procedures.

Other job-related requirements for this position: Emergency Duty: Incumbent may be required to work before, during and/or beyond normal work hours or days in the event of an emergency. Emergency duty required of the incumbent includes working in special needs or Red Cross shelters, or performing other emergency duties including, but not limited to, responses to or threats involving any disaster or threat of disaster, man-made or natural.
