NURSING PROGRAM SPECIALIST – STAFF DEVELOPMENT

Annual Salary: $69,628.00
Paid Bi-weekly.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Licensure as a Registered Professional Nurse in accordance with Florida Statute 464 or eligible to practice nursing in accordance with Florida Administrative Code 210-8.27.
- A bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with a major in nursing or a related field AND two years of nursing experience, or verifiable professional nursing experience may be substituted on a year-for-year basis for the required college education.
- Must have excellent computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel).
- Current certification in Basic Life Support (CPR.)
- Successful completion of the employment screening process to include, but not limited to, a national background investigation and drug test.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Experience in a long-term health care environment (nursing home; skilled nursing; or assisted living facility).
- Experience in staff education.
POSITION DESCRIPTION:
- Develop, implement, and maintain a written framework of staff educational plan that promotes the growth and development of its licensed and unlicensed staff.
- Develop, coordinate, and monitor facility orientation; lead the nursing assistant training program; and continuing education program, including preparation of comprehensive curriculum, pre- and post-testing materials, scheduling, and recordkeeping requirements.
- Identify, analyze, and provide training for individualized needs identified because of posttest/performance monitoring.
- Arrange and conduct orientation classes for all newly hired personnel.
- Maintain current certification in Basic Life Support and perform this skill when necessary.
- Research and development of regularly updated resource guide of professional training opportunities available to facility personnel.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Nursing Service.
- Perform all duties assigned in a cooperative, effective, timely and professional manner.
