JOB DESCRIPTION:
This position is an OPS temporary accounting position in the Division of Vocational Rehabilitation’s (DVR) Financial Payments Section that is administratively assigned to the Bureau of the Comptroller. This position is primarily responsible for receiving warrants from the State Comptroller’s office and mailing those warrants with the respective vendor remittance invoice. All duties of this position must be performed in compliance with the mandatory requirements of Section 215.422, Florida Statutes, Chapter 3A-20, Florida Administrative Code.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Receives and matches state warrants with Comptroller’s check register.
- Receives and mails warrants for MFMP, Client Services, Travel and Contract payments.
- Maintain pending voucher files copies and box paid vouchers for record storage.
- Matches warrants with documentation to mail to vendors once received from the State Comptroller’s office.
- Ensure the addresses are correct on warrants before they are mailed.
- Track unpaid vouchers using the state adopted accounting and financial management, general ledger accounting system.
- Responds to inquiries concerning unpaid vouchers and retrieves information as needed. If unpaid after 5 days, is required to follow-up with the State Comptroller’s office to ensure payment is within F.S. accounting guidelines.
- Processes cash refund research request.
- Research and provide all documentation requested by Revenue Management for cash refunds.
- Maintains a log of all cash refunds received.
- Copy and file all cash refunds received in appropriate voucher folder.
- Assist with processing authorization invoices for payment.
- Maintains a variety of complex ledgers and journals.
- Prepares a variety of complex fiscal statements and reports.
- Performs other duties as necessary.
