Your Specific Responsibilities:
This position spends the majority of the time engaged in supervisory responsibilities. This includes communicating with, motivating, training, and evaluating employees in addition to planning and directing employees' work. The incumbent has the authority to hire, transfer, suspend, lay off, recall, promote, discharge, assign, reward, or discipline subordinate employees or effectively recommend such action. The incumbent will also be required to develop performance expectations, meet with staff regularly to discuss performance, complete performance reviews, maintain vacation and work schedules, ensuring proper coverage, and complete timesheets.
The incumbent is part of a global public health organization and is expected to support the Florida Department of Health in Flagler County in its mission to protect, promote and improve the health of all people in Florida through integrated state, county and community efforts and its vision To be the Healthiest State in the Nation. This management position will have responsibility of all clinic site scheduling, front line staff productivity, coordinate training of all new staff and annual training for incumbent staff including the maintenance of training records, ongoing QI monitoring. Provides professional support and technical assistance to the clinical service staff, community agencies, and the general public. This position will be required to perform duties at Florida Department of Health in Flagler County locations as well as sites established/co-located within the community in conjunction with community partners. The employee is expected to arrive at assigned location (daily) on time at the provided start time. Mileage will be paid in accordance with State policies for travel to different service site locations within the county.
The position serves as the PUBLIC HEALTH SERVICES MANAGER A- SES and works under the general supervision of the PUBLIC HEALTH NUTRITION PROGRAM DIRECTOR, Position #64005763. This position works closely with the PUBLIC HEALTH NUTRITION PROGRAM DIRECTOR for the Florida Department of Health (FDOH) in Flagler County site and all outreach clinic sites in planning and implementing efficient WIC/clinic health service operations. This position is responsible for the supervision of Flagler WIC staff. This individual will be responsible for all supervisory duties including, but not limited to, hiring and selection, developing performance plans, conducting performance appraisals, planning and directing their work, approving leave, and taking disciplinary action as appropriate. Monitor productivity for all sites, ensure services meet the measurable milestones, monitor service coding for accuracy in service provision, ongoing QI monitoring. Collaborate with other departments/divisions. Submit monthly reports to Public Health Nutrition Director and assist in working with staff on corrective actions. Maintain and update the FLWiSE schedule template for the agency. Provides program oversight for ordering supplies in the MFMP sustem. Works with program and agency staff to recommend policies and program improvements to enhance or improve customer experiences. Secures meeting rooms for staff meeting, training and webinars. Sends meeting notices to appropriate staff. Secures proper call-in codes and webinar/video conferencing information. Updates the Assets systems for computers and WIC equipment
This position will collaborate on clinic work flow, and create requested reports. Supervisory duties include but not limited to interviewing, hiring, evaluating and initiating disciplinary actions to employees. Establish and evaluate performance appraisals and monitor leave and attendance assigned working closely with all scheduling supervisory team members. Maintain statistical data, and ensure computer data is entered properly into the information systems by the staff in HMS and FLWISE. Accurately maintain and adjust staff schedules for services based on templates and staffing as directed.
Maintain a hybrid medical record system for active, inactive and destroyed clinic records for FDOH in accordance with security policies, Federal rules and regulations, Florida Statutes, and state policies and procedures. Work closely with the legal department processing all subpoenas for Flager site. Assures federal, state and local policies and procedures are followed regarding control and release of information, including verification of release.
Training Coordination: Manage and coordinate training for all WIC staff to ensure compliance with federal, state and local agency while ensuring optimal clinic coverage. Maintains a training completion system for licensed and non-licensed staff. Recommends trainings to help staff better understand the populations they serve and how to best to provide services.

• Completes timesheet, EARS, and mandatory training in a timely and accurate manner.

Must be a current Florida Department of Health employee, in a Selected Exempt Service (SES), Career Service (CS), or Other Personal Services (OPS) position
Preferred -
Experience working in Public Health/Community Nutrition?WIC.
