SHEET METAL TECHNICIAN (METAL CUTTING)
- Prepare, run, setup, and operate Shear Machine
- Prepare, shear, issue material electronically, and if needed submit RFPO
- Manage Sheet Metal material inventory by accurately issuing material to provide material support to Waterjet, Punch Press, and Laser Machines
- Receive incoming material and properly scanned to designated location
- Responsible for overall area safety, delivery targets, looking for creative ways to increase product reliability, efficiency, and reduce overall cost
- Understand blueprint reading and geometric tolerances and how they relate to the finished part
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
- High school diploma or equivalency certificate
- 3+ years of experience working with precision equipment (scales, calipers, height gauges, micrometers, etc.)
- Experience with setup and operation of JMT Shear Machine or any Shear Brand Machine
PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
- Ability to meet daily/weekly production goals with critical time schedules
- Ability to read blueprints and complete basic math
- Ability to run and operate Shear Machine
- Experience in material handling and production coordinating are essentials
- Ability to manage the Sheet Metal material inventory i.e. receiving, submit RFPO, Shear, and issuing materials
- Experience in operating Waterjet, Punch Press, and Laser Machines
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Must be able to work the following shifts:
- Monday to Friday, 5:00AM – 3:30PM
- Must be willing to work overtime, and/or weekends as needed
- Standing for long periods of time, climbing up and down ladders, bending, grasping, sitting, pulling, pushing, stooping, and stretching are generally required to perform the functions of this position
- Ability to lift up to 25 lbs. unassisted
COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:
Pay range:
Level 1: $22.00 - $27.00/hour
Level 2: $25.00 - $32.50/hour
Level 3: $30.00 - $38.00/hour
Your actual level and base salary will be determined on a case-by-case basis and may vary based on the following considerations: job-related knowledge and skills, education, and experience.
