The Work You Will Do:
District Work Program Administrator / District One / Program Management / Work Program
This position will direct and supervise Work Program staff in developing, implementing, and maintaining the District’s Work Program, coordinator the decision-making process and efforts to include projects in the Work Program and provide support in resolving problems, establishing work, and scheduling priority deadlines.

Your Specific Responsibilities:
Direct and supervise Work Program staff in developing, implementing, and maintaining the District’s Work Program. Plan workloads, workflows, deadlines, objectives, and time utilization with employees. Evaluate, train, and motivate subordinate employees to improve quality and quantity of work performed. Provide support in resolving problems, establishing work, and scheduling priority deadlines. Communicate on a regular basis with employees both individually and in staff meetings to provide feedback and motivation.
Coordinate the decision-making process and efforts necessary to include projects in the Work Program. Make programming recommendations to maximize the utilization of district allocated resources (funds and budget). Ensure the District’s Work Program is balanced to financial resources allocated to the district by processing project changes and amendments, resolving cost overrun issues, reconciling the Work Program to fund and budget allocations and reconciling and closing projects in a timely manner.
Acts as senior staff advisor to district management on Work Program and Federal Aid Program technical and procedural matters and act as the principal liaison with Central Office staff on related matters. Advise management on potential impacts and implications of proposed changes to the Work Program relative to overall Work Program stability and recommend alternative actions for consideration to maximize the use of district allocated resources and minimize negative impacts on stability.
Attend, conduct and participate in meetings and make presentations as required. Prepare reports and analyses to assist all levels of management in the implementation of the Work Program. Provide information in a timely manner in response to requests from the Governor, the Legislature, the Florida Transportation Commission, Central Office, district management and staff, local agencies, elected officials and the public.
Keep informed of rules, policies, procedures, and technical aspects to meet job requirements. Ensure training and cross training of Work Program staff so continuity of work is maintained. Encourage frequent feedback as well as open and positive communication. Develop and manage a program to educate all district staff on the operations of the Work Program. Prepare and maintain training materials.
Verifies the timely processing of federal project authorizations with the Federal Aid Program Coordinator to ensure that production schedules and Work Program stability are not negatively impacted, and the use of Federal Obligating Authority is maximized. Facilitate coordination with the Central Office Federal Aid Programs office to resolve issues and improve efficiency of the Federal Aid process within the district. Assist the Federal Aid Program Coordinator in ensuring all documents for federal audits are provided for review. Ensure timely responses of any follow-up questions.
Serves on the District One emergency activation team and responds to natural disasters and emergencies as required.
